Loosen Up a Little......!

What happens when you ask a group of kids to draw?

They start drawing. And if you ask them to dance? They just dance. However, if you ask the same question to an adult, they usually reply, “I don’t know.” Instead of jumping into action, they connect with their logical brain.

When we fear being laughed at, we stop...

  • Doing what we want
  • Having fun
  • Learning

That’s the problem with taking ourselves too seriously: We choose to look good over learning new things. Fear makes our lives boring and repetitive.

It’s easy to get caught up in our own narrative. That we’re a big deal. That we bring so much value to whatever or whoever. Luckily, life brings us all back down. In truth, we’re all replaceable. Even Oprah.

Our friends take us for granted. But not all the time. Sometimes, we just think we’re hot shit. For no reason. It’s the adult version of running around the house with a cape made from your bed sheets. Look, everyone. I’m hot shit.

When we take ourselves seriously, we take others seriously, too—that’s why their opinions can hurt us. Labels don’t define you unless you allow them to. People can call you whatever they want, that doesn’t mean you should make those labels yours.

Anytime I start to stress out, I just remind myself. Within a thousand years, every trace of my existence will have vanished. Even Shakespeare might not last that long. What a relief. Try it sometime.

Today I Choose Joy!!

"If you don't know where you are going, you might wind up someplace else" I think you’ll agree with me when I say: The power of positive thinking is remarkable. In fact, the idea that your mind can change your world almost seems too good to be true. I can assure you, however, that I have experienced AND witnessed the good that focusing on the positive can bring. But before I get into that, let me ask you a question. Can you guess what the most successful and happy people think about all day long? The answer is quite simple… Healthy, happy people think about what they want, and how to get it, most of the time. In this way developing a positive attitude can truly change your entire life. Now, How Do You Train Your Mind To Think Positive? Positive affirmations are positive phrases that can be repeated over and over to teach you how to get rid of negative thoughts and encourage a positive attitude. I also find motivation from  inspirational quotes   a...

Hold yourself back, or heal yourself back together. You decide!!

“ What if no one is coming to discover your hidden talents, to acknowledge your untapped potential, to heal you, to save you from yourself? What if the savior was always supposed to be you? What if that’s why it hasn’t worked out with anyone else?” Waiting for someone to come and save you is a mistake because no one will know how to do it better than yourself.  Your best savior is you because you can also be your own hero. It’s enough to simply pay attention and take care of yourself when you need it most.  Otherwise, unease or discomfort might emerge someday and stay for good. Stop giving away the main role to those inner voices that don’t let you move forward and anchor you in the comfort zone. Who are your enemies?  Everything and everyone who traps you with unease and discomfort and anything or anyone that belittles you.   Certainly, we need inspiration to show us examples of clear purpose. But I wonder what happens in a world where we each figure out w...
